PRODUCT & DOCUMENT CODES
Sinneslöschen product and document identifiers have changed as the company’s product range and record systems developed. Current designations generally follow standardized numbering conventions. Historical records may preserve earlier engineering, OEM or project-specific identifiers.
SL — Sinneslöschen Line
Format: SL-YYNN. Used for general electronic products. YY normally identifies the year in which the designation was assigned. NN identifies a sequence within that year and does not necessarily indicate exact commercial-release order.
VDP — Vector Display Processor
Format: VDP-N. Numeric suffix identifies generation/model and does not represent a calendar year. Examples: VDP-3, VDP-6, VDP-7.
SV — Simulation & Visualization
Format: SV-YY. YY normally corresponds to product year/system generation. Variants may use suffixes, e.g. SV-81A, SV-98D.
HFC — Human Factors Control
Format: HFC-NN. Used for laboratory/engineering equipment associated with operator-interface evaluation and response measurement. Suffix does not encode year. Variants may use letters, e.g. HFC-12B.
OEM Project Designations
Typical format: OEM-YY-NN. Used for customer-specific systems, contract engineering programs, custom assemblies and limited-production configurations not assigned standard catalog numbers.
Legacy Project Designation — PB
Typical historical format: PB-YY. PB appears in surviving engineering indexes as a legacy project designation. It does not correspond to a current Sinneslöschen product family and is no longer assigned to new products or programs. No standard expansion of the PB prefix is provided in the surviving online product-code reference. Example: PB-81.
Hardware Revisions
Rev. A, Rev. B, Rev. C. Revision letters indicate hardware/manufacturing changes that do not necessarily require a new commercial model number.
Technical Document Codes
| Code | Type |
|---|---|
| DS | Data Sheet |
| UM | User Manual |
| SM | Service Manual |
| RM | Reference Manual |
| AN | Application Note |
| TB | Technical Bulletin |
| SB | Service Bulletin |
| RN | Research Note |
| SR | Service Record |
| PH | Photograph / Image Record |
Typical product documentation: TYPE-PRODUCT-NN. General bulletins: TB-YY-NNN, SB-YY-NNN. Research notes: RN-YY-NNN.
Archive Record Identifiers
Examples: 81-A, 81-D, 81-H, 81-X, 81-S. Individual archive records may append a sequence such as 81-X-018. These are archive references, not commercial product numbers.
Legacy Project-First Codes
Some OEM/experimental projects use the project designation before the document type: OEM81-04-DS-01, OEM81-09-ES-01, SV81A-CF-02, OEM81-09-TR-03.
- ES = Engineering Summary
- CF = Configuration Record
- TR = Test Record
